Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan is one of the largest Polish universities, based in the city of Pozna in the west of the country. It has been named after the Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz since 1955.

University history:


The Poznan Association of Friends of Science played a major role in this process, which pushed the academic legacy forward during the period of the Polish partition up to the official re-establishment of the Poznan University proper, after the end of the First World War in 1919, founded after Poland regained its independence.
The University of Poznan prospered and was again forced to go to Earth and offer its services in a conspiracy during the Second World War under the name of the Secret University of the Western Lands (1940-1944).
Despite the Nazi German occupation, it was able to educate and produce more than 2,000 graduates with the help of about 300 academic teachers, risking their lives by offering university courses in the Polish language that became illegal during the war.
The modern era of the university begins with the giving of it the name of its new patron – Adam Mickiewicz.
In 2019, Adam Mickiewicz University celebrated its centenary with 3 other schools created as a result of the division of Poznan University into four independent higher educational institutions: Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU), Poznan University of Medical Sciences (PUMS), Poznan University of Life Sciences (PULS). ) and Poznan University of Physical Education (PUPE).

Its history:
Between 1899 and 1902 AD, a late-Renaissance-style building was erected to meet the needs of Kaiser Wilhelm Bibliotheque; In 1902-1919, the Kaiser Wilhelm Bibliothek Book Collection was formed and the Library Cards Index was organized.
The Polish administration also acquired the Kaiser Wilhelm Bibliothek’s book collection (250,000 volumes) and began the process of Polonization of the Library’s collections to meet the needs of the Polish University established in Poznan.
In 1945 AD, the university library activity resumed and, as part of the work of securing abandoned and abandoned book collections, about 750,000 volumes. The influx of private collections, especially old prints and cartographic collections.

NanoBioMedical Center

The NanoBioMedical Center (CNBM) is an organizational unit of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, founded in partnership with the Medical University, University of Life Sciences and Poznan University of Technology. Work started in 2011.
The main objective of the CNBM is to conduct research and teaching activities in the field of nano sciences and nanotechnologies in an interdisciplinary approach at the doctoral and master’s levels. The interdisciplinary profile of CNBM’s activity is based on the combination of physical, chemical, biological, medical and materials sciences in nanotechnology.
Research issues conducted at CNBM include the full production and characterization of nanomaterials and the study of their potential in, among others, diagnostics and tissue engineering, targeted therapy, energy conversion and storage, catalysis, sensors, and nanoelectronics.

Greater Poland Center for Advanced Technologies
The Wielkopolska Center for Advanced Technologies in Poznan is a multidisciplinary center that brings together the best specialists in the exact, natural and technical sciences, focusing on new materials and biomaterials with multifaceted applications.
The essence of the interdisciplinary activities of this center is the development of original combinations of chemicals, biochemicals and agrochemicals (the so-called fine chemicals), as well as a new generation of biomaterials, nanomaterials and their precursors, and then the development of advanced technologies and biotechnology for their production for optoelectronics, medicine, pharmacology, agriculture and many other fields industry and other technology.
