Gdansk University of Technology is one of the oldest universities in Poland

According to THEWorld, it was ranked 7th in Poland, and 1001st in the world for the year 2020.

University history
The foundation stone of the university building was laid on June 7, 1900. Within the next four years, buildings with a total volume of more than 200,000 cubic meters were constructed on an area of 6.4 hectares. At that time, the university was divided into six faculties: architecture, chemistry, construction, machine engineering and electrical technology, shipbuilding and ship machinery engineering and general sciences.

Campus

The campus consists of many buildings constructed in different architectural styles over the past 100 years.
The monumental main building designed at the beginning of the twentieth century during the neo-Renaissance in the style of the architect and university professor Albert Sirstein, is the symbol of the university.
The campus of the Gdansk University of Technology is constantly being developed. Stylish, modern and eco-friendly buildings coexist with charming and opulent edifices. Classes take place in modern halls and well-equipped specialized laboratories.
There are modern educational and research centers in addition to the supporting units within the university campus:
Nanotechnology The center contains 25 laboratories equipped with testing devices and atomic level LINTE ^ 2 laboratory for innovative electric energy technologies and the integration of renewable energy sources.
The Mathematics and Distance Education Center uses modern ICT techniques and tools for mathematical modeling and data visualization.
Center for Information and Communication Technology, Education and Research.
Academic Sports Center: Sports facilities include swimming pools, a soccer field, a gym, a volleyball court, outdoor tennis courts, a fitness hall, bodybuilding halls, a rowing hall, and a judo gym.
The Gdansk University of Technology has twelve dormitories located in three residential complexes
DS1, DS2, DS3, DS4, DS12 – Traugutt property; DS5, DS6, DS7, DS8, DS9, DS10 – Wyspiański Residential Estates; DS11 – Bresno.

University’s library :

The Gdansk University of Technology Library is the oldest and largest technical library in northern Poland. The library contains: more than 1,200,000 thousand volumes, mostly textbooks and study guides, scientific books, scientific and technical journals, manuals of standards and metrology, technology and economics books and online databases.
The classification of the Gdansk University of Technology Library as a leading scientific and technical information center is evidenced by the numerous contacts with famous scientific institutions in the country and abroad:
Collaboration with more than 80 research libraries as part of local and foreign interlibrary loans,
Cooperation with more than 70 scientific libraries in Poland and abroad,

Biblioteka Politechniki G Danish is fully computerized – all operations are performed in the VTLS VIRTUA system.
Information services are being developed in a row – their databases and catalogs are created, which allow, via the Internet, to obtain quick and comprehensive information about groups and their locations – not only in GUT, but also in other universities of the country and in the world .

CJO Center for Foreign Languages:

The Center for Foreign Languages ​​is a university-wide unit of the Gdansk University of Technology created to perform educational tasks aimed at developing language competencies in the field of communication in a professional and academic environment. The center’s activities are in line with the university’s mission and strategy.
The teaching offer of the Foreign Language Center includes the following languages:
English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Swedish, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi, Polish for foreigners
The Center for Foreign Languages ​​contributes in its educational and research activities to the internationalization of the education process at the Gdansk University of Technology.
All classes conducted at CJO are conducted in foreign languages ​​and are closely coordinated with the needs of students in certain fields of study.
CJO academic tutors develop original teaching materials and texts that support professional and specialized education in foreign languages, which is important for both Polish and foreign GUT students.
Thanks to the ERASMUS programme, the university has the opportunity to cooperate with foreign universities from twenty-eight EU countries as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

CI TASK CENTER:
The Academic Computer Center in Gdansk (CI TASK) is one of the largest urban internet networks in Poland.
It has been operating since 1992 thanks to an agreement reached between Tri-City, President of Higher Education Institutions.
The Gdansk University of Technology played the leading role in building this urban network.

Undergraduate Education (USZiDJK)
