Lublin University of Technology (LUT) is a public institution and the largest technical university in the region.

Rankings:
According to SJR, it was ranked 36th in Poland, and 545th in the world for the year 2021.
According to Perspektywy, it was ranked 30th in Poland, and 31st in the world for the year 2020.
According to URAP world rankings, it was ranked 34th in Poland, and 1878th in the world for the year 2020.

University history:

Founded on May 13, 1953 at the initiative of the Society of Engineers and Technicians in Lublin. Initially, it was called Evening Engineering School.
The history of the university has included a dynamic development of research staff and student body on the one hand, and problems related to place on the other. Initially, the university enjoyed the hospitality of schools, institutions, and other industrial facilities. It wasn’t until 1959 when the decision was made for a new site for the university, on Nadbystrzycka Street.
On April 28, 1965, as a result of intense efforts, the Evening School of Engineering was transformed into the Higher School of Engineering. It was offering full-time, evening and outdoor courses. In 1973, the school received the right to provide education in the form of standardized master’s studies. August 1, 1977 a milestone in the university’s history. It is the date of the establishment of the Lublin University of Technology.
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was the first in the university structure. As early as the 1953/1954 academic year, more than 100 students began education at the university. Over time, it became clear that the development of the university is essential. In accordance with the intention of the founders, who intended the institution to become a full-fledged technical university, qualified engineering personnel of the Lublin region received education in the organization. In the 1963/1964 academic year, electrical technology appeared as a separate course.
In 1964 the College of Electrical Engineering was established with a specialization in Industrial Electrical Engineering. Nowadays it forms the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
In 1965, the College of Civil Engineering was established. In 1986, its name was changed to the College of Civil and Sanitary Engineering. In 2009, the name was changed to the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The fourth college, the College of Management and Fundamentals of Technology, was established in 1988.
In 2004 the College of Environmental Engineering was established.
In 2007, the College of Management and Technology Fundamentals was divided into two separate colleges – the College of Management and the College of Technology Fundamentals.

The mission of the CINT PL Library is to support study, research, and professional projects that require specialized writing. It offers students and employees of the univers

ity’s scientific literature, texts and textbooks information publications in the field of technical sciences and related sciences, as well as general, scientific and professional journals.
The library collects current Polish technical literature and a large collection of foreign literature, has about 150 thousand books, and has subscribed to 133 Polish print magazines and 7 foreign magazines.
There are resources in the area of ​​standardization, available in the public reading room and in the libraries of the four colleges: the College of Mechanical Engineering Library, the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture Library, the Colleges of Management and Technology Fundamentals Library and the College of Environmental Engineering Library.
The library makes resources available at convenient times in the borrowing room, the general reading room and four reading rooms located in the colleges.
E-books are a new offer for users: IBUK and books from publishers such as Elsevier and Springer.
The digital library of Lublin University of Technology has been opened, the purpose of which is to access online the educational and scientific resources of the university and documents related to its history, as well as the history of science and technology in the region.

 

International Relations Office :

It is the focal point of all international educational activities at Lublin University of Technology. Participates in several education and training programmes, such as Erasmus+, Erasmus Mundus and MOSTECH is committed to making sure that international guests get the most out of the time they spend in Lublin and gives them advice and information on issues such as admission, visa regulations, finance, accommodation or university general.

Student organizations:
Possessing a wide range of student organizations, LUT provides opportunities for students to participate, develop their skills, or discover hidden talents. Whether you are interested in performing arts and sports or intend to expand your knowledge in your spare time, Lublin University of Technology has something for you.
There are about 50 student scientific research groups, whose members have the opportunity to pursue their scientific interests by conducting research, participating in conferences and meetings or promoting science.

Ad groups:
Lublin University of Technology is home to a media group, consisting of an online TV station, photo agency, and a magazine.
Pollub TV
It is an online student television station primarily featuring online student news programme. However, the members also film cultural events and other entertainment shows.
Pollub TV also cooperates with TVP3 Lublin, a regional branch of Poland’s public television broadcaster, which broadcasts one of the programs produced by the team.
Plagiat is a student magazine published at LUT that mainly covers local and university news, but is full of interviews, reports and tips about student life.
Magazine photos are often provided by SAF, a student photo agency.
