University history:
Technische Hochschule Breslau was founded in 1910 with German scientists and engineers, with the support of the German Empire. She is famous for her achievements, innovations and inventions.
In May 1945, Festung Breslau was overrun by the Red Army of the Soviet Union and the Technical University of Breslau combined and the city was ceded to the People’s Republic of Poland.
The Polish University of Technology Wrocław was founded on August 24, 1945. A group of 27 professors from Lwów University arrived in Wrocław and started the Polish Academic Society in the destroyed or badly damaged buildings at Technische Hochschule Breslau.
The first Kazimierz Idaszewski lecture was given on November 15, 1945. Since then Wroclaw Science Day has been celebrated.
In 1951 the university was divided into two institutions. The first rector of the newly established Wrocław University of Technology was Dionizy Smoleński. From this moment on, the Polytechnic developed rapidly and underwent many organizational changes. The university, under the name of Wroclaw University of Technology, has been operating since 1945.
Wroclaw University of Science and Technology is the heir of the Technische Hochschule Breslau, as well as the intellectual and scientific heritage of Lviv Polytechnic, whose founders and organizers were scientists from Lviv and Warsaw.
In 1946, the university managed to launch the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the College of Civil Engineering in the Division of Architecture, and the College of Technical Chemistry.
In 1951, the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, with its 2,670 students, broke free from organizational ties with the University of Wroclaw.
From 1952 until 2014, the university was growing, and it witnessed changes in systems and structure, and won its first medals, as the number of colleges increased and institutes were established, and many buildings and colleges were added, and a number of student units and residential halls.
In 2014 also saw the opening of the comprehensive academic high school at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology.
In early 2015, the institutes were permanently removed from the faculty structures, and the department became the primary organizational unit. In the same year, the Faculty of Mathematics, the thirteenth organizational unit of the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology became active.

The Scientific and Technical Information Center acts as a center for scientific and technical information and as a public scientific library.

A modern building for the center, located in the heart of the campus, was built within the framework of the “Regional Library of Engineering and Technology for the Innovative Economy” project (BIBLIOTECH), which was jointly funded by the European Union with funding from the European Union. Sports facilities:
There are a variety of sports, the majority of the courses are free, but for some of them you will have to pay.

The University is one of the founders of the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wroclaw, with the city of Wroclaw and the French University in Metz.

Since 2005 at the Wroclaw University of Technology there is the Rector’s Commissioner for the Disabled.
